MENINGIOMA research
The collective projects aim to provide a comprehensive investigation of the biological background of clinically aggressive meningiomas. Leveraging a retrospective cohort of 251 cases and generating a prospective cohort of 145 cases, the consortium plans to identify reliable markers for diagnostics, prognosis, and treatment decisions as well as model novel targets for nonresectable and clinically aggressive meningiomas. This research will directly influence and considerably improve patient care.

Identification
Subprojects 1, 3, 4, 7, & 5 focus on the integration of genetic subgroups, extent of tumor resections, and intraoperative assessment.
- SP 1 & 3 – Identification of novel tissue biomarkers and novel biological subgroups
- SP 4 & 7 – Identification of liquid biopsy development and PET profile of aggressive growth
- SP 5 – Identification of clear delineation of tumor border, infiltration, and intra-OP spatial subtyping

Model
Subproject 6 focuses on employing and evaluating the markers of other subprojects and using in-vitro and in-vivo model generation to test for identification parameters.

Treatment
Subprojects 2 & 3 focus on novel treatment strategies such as immunotherapy, IncRNA-based approaches, and the detection of deregulated pathways for molecularly targeted therapies.
